The Spring 2013 Romona Keveza Couture Bridal Collection was unveiled at the start of New York Bridal Fashion Week to a select number of media and luxury retailers. The crowd was brought to their feet with applause as Keveza stepped out on the runway to close her show.
The collection takes inspiration from one of the pearls of the French Riviera: the elegant seaside resort of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat in springtime. Known as the preferred holiday destination and escape for European aristocracy, the international jet set and A-list celebrities, Cap-Ferrat is laden with magnificent villas, tranquil gardens and pastel-colored surroundings. It naturally sets a perfect aesthetic tone for this latest collection and serves as the quintessential setting for an elegant wedding: whether it be set in one of the elegant salons of the famed Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, one of many perfectly manicured private gardens, atop a cliff with a spectacular seaside backdrop, on the beach barefoot, a petite ceremony in a miniature chapel or a grand wedding in the Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat.
For Spring 2013, Keveza’s designs play with luxurious ivories, pearl, white, ice blue, and one finale gown in signature “Romona Red” that defies the bridal color palette.
The collection speaks true to the term “couture” through its sumptuous custom fabrics, its textiles meticulously hand-beaded by skilled artisans in small ateliers in the United States, and with each one-of-a-kind gown being delicately handcrafted.
The fresh textures, intricate detailing and rich fabrics stay true to the Couture Bridal Collection’s underscoring essence of refined luxury.
The detailing highlights include belts richly embellished with Swarovski crystals, illusion-scalloped necklines, couture-ruched silhouettes, and dramatically sculpted origami flowers. Graceful silhouettes are created through sweetheart, v-neck and asymmetrical necklines; and mermaid, circle and fluted-shaped skirts celebrate the curves of the beautiful Couture bride in search of refined luxury.
