SNEAK PEEK : Summer Seaside

Monday, June 20th, 2011 | by Kaleah

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This summer we were inspired by the thought of sand between our toes and a warm breeze on a sunny afternoon. Summer weddings are wonderful and we wanted to celebrate all things summer. Our window concept designed by Leslie Ritchey tied together the diaphanous fabrics of tulle and chiffon with the beachy elements including sea shells, glass bottles and fishing net. Many of our BRLR brides have planned beach weddings, and we love it! There is something romantic about such a powerful yet simple backdrop as the blue water and bright sky. Congratulations to our brides Sarah Thompson and Lisa Bell who celebrated sea side ceremonies and thank you for sharing your pictures!

HELLO SPRING!

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011 | by Kaleah

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We’ve got spring fever at Big Rock! It’s still been a little chilly, here in Columbus, Ohio…it even snowed a few days ago! But, that doesn’t stop us from getting in the mood for some sunshine. Our latest window display is bright, colorful, and fun! Butterflies and flowers help to excite and inspire us for the new season that’s to come.

Use the spring season, and our amazing window display to inspire your wedding! Add the element of flowers to anything, or if you want over the top…EVERYTHING! Go big and bold with a floral head piece. Mimi’s Closet is local to Columbus and can create custom pieces that are personal to you.

Not sure if you can pull off a hair piece, or even know how you would style your hair with a flower? Let Charles Penzone work their magic! Make a play date with their stylists at MAX salon.

Maybe you have short hair…and would rather skip the hair accessories. Why not play with jewelry? Make a statement with a piece by Ranjana Khan. Her pieces are breathtaking and will add the element of romance to your look. This necklace would be fabulous paired with a strapless gown!

How did I get this far talking about flowers without actually talking about flowers? If you haven’t been to visit our friend Mary at Rose Bredl then you need to soon. Her floral arrangements and bouquets are exquisite. Maybe you want something whimsical like a bouquet of fresh wild flowers, or something more classic like gathered roses – Mary can create pieces in any direction. She’s wonderful to work with, and a sweet heart, too.

Saving the best for last…our area of expertise…let’s talk wedding dresses.
We have looks from some of the most amazing designers in the wedding industry. If you want a gown that says spring, get acquainted with Jenny Lee. One of our favorites by Jenny is this style in silk duchess satin with rose appliques and and an asymmetrical neckline. It’s traditional with a twist.
